Traditional ruler delighted at peaceful elections in Lagos community

The Traditional Ruler of Megida Community in Ayobo, Lagos State, Oba Owen Alao-Adeniran, has praised INEC for peaceful 2023 Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Ward A, Ayobo-Ipaja council area.

 

Alao-Adeniran gave the appraisal while casting his votes at polling unit 052.

According to him, the process had been more peaceful and well coordinated than that of Feb. 25 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

 

The traditional ruler also hailed the use of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, saying it enhanced the effectiveness of the electoral process.

He said: “We are grateful because God has taken control of elections in this area.

“Everything has been smooth and we have urged our people to maintain peace and order which you can see for yourself.

“Election is not a do-or-die affair.

“We have pleaded with the community members not to cause any form of trouble, and we are happy that they obliged ”

He prayed that the elections would be peaceful and orderly throughout Lagos State.

Unruly passenger of Ibom Air faces flight disruption charges -- NCAA confirms

Editor 1 LAGOS -- The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has confirmed that the unruly passenger in the Ibom Air saga, Ms Chiamaka Ubani, was on January 10, docked at Uyo Magistrates' Court by the Nigerian Police for flight disruption charges.  This was confirmed by the authority's Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr Micheal Achimugo in a post on his official X handle.
