Communique Issued at the end of a 3-day seminar themed, ‘Transforming Health Management in Africa – The Power of Technology

The seminar took place at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Building, Nurudeen Olopopo Drive, Alausa, Ikeja, from 18 to 20 April, 2023. It was organised by Cranium Integrated Solutions Ltd, Developers of Cranium Complete Hospital Information Management Software. The compere for the 3 days was Dr Kolawole Oseni.

The seminar attracted participants from diverse walks of life across many states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory.

 *Decisions/Recommendations* 


After much discussions and deliberations on the issues raised, followed by contributions by ALL participants, the following are hereby listed as the group’s recommendation to all stakeholders in the Digital Health space.

1. Digital Health is the way forward in Healthcare in Africa, Nigeria inclusive.

2. All stakeholders in Nigeria are to familiarize themselves with and embrace the National Digital Health Strategic Framework and Policy (NDHSFP) Document. This is available on website of the Federal Ministry of Health. This applies to all African countries with similar documents.

3. There is a need to create more Awareness and Advocacy among stakeholders on the benefits of Digital Health Development.

4. The approach to implementing Digital Health must be tailored to address the health needs of the community.

5. Digital Health implementation is SOCIOTECHNICAL, it should therefore address the sociocultural behavior/pattern of the community.

6. The body of stakeholders, as detailed in the NDHSFP, should be well constituted to involve all relevant stakeholders and be given the necessary support towards its national implementation.

7. It is recommended that the NDHSFP document be adopted and domesticated by all thirty-six (36) states in the country and the Federal Capital territory.

Gbeleyi hails Tinubu on decentralisation of NCAT

Editor 1 LAGOS -- The Chief Executive Officer of Agil Travels and Tourism, Mr Ayo Gbeleyi has hailed President Bola Tinubu's move to decentralise the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT). According to Gbeleyi, the move will transform the country's Aviation sector by increasing access to quality training across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones.  Recall that Tinubu had on January 8, announced the splitting of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, Kaduna State, into six campuses across the country’s geo-political zones.
